This Privacy Policy explains how RTI International (formerly Research Triangle Institute), collects, uses, and discloses personal information about participants in studies we operate, including the Health and Media Study.

Collection of Personal Information

Consent to receive text messages is always voluntary and never required for study participation. We will document your name and consent decision. For those who do choose to receive text messages, we will also record a text-capable phone number.

Those who choose not to receive text messages will be fully eligible to participate in the study, and to all associated benefits of participation.

Your information will never be used for marketing purposes, or any purpose other than the study-related messaging. Your information and will not be shared with any third party unless required by law. You may opt out of further messages at any time by replying "STOP" to any message. Carrier data and messaging fees may apply. Your information will be held only for the duration of our study's data collection period and purged afterwards, or purged at any time at your request.
